Senior AI Engineer - EY GDS Spain - Hybrid The opportunity As a Senior AI Engineer you will lead the architecture design and delivery of advanced AI and Generative AI solutions for enterprise clients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to shape end-to-end AI strategies deliver scalable implementations guide junior resources and ensure the quality security and robustness of AI systems deployed in production environments. Your key responsibilities You will be responsible for the full life cycle of complex AI initiatives including - Leading the analysis of business requirements and translating them into technical roadmaps and architectural designs. - Designing and developing enterprise-grade components such as inference services ML/LLM pipelines APIs and microservices. - Defining and implementing MLOps/LLMOps pipelines model registry versioning CI/CD monitoring retraining and rollback strategies - Implementing advanced GenAI solutions (RAG evaluation frameworks guardrails retrieval strategies secure orchestration agentic workflows) - Ensuring non-functional requirements such as security resilience privacy-by-design observability and auditability - Mentoring junior engineers conducting code reviews and contributing to internal AI community assets accelerators and best practices - Managing stakeholders aligning on KPIs and supporting proposal/presales activities when required Skills and attributes for success You bring deep technical expertise architectural vision strong leadership and the ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise environments. To qualify for the role you must have - Bachelors or Masters degree in STEM fields (Computer Science Engineering Data Science Mathematics Statistics) - 4-6+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering and enterprise delivery - Advanced proficiency in Python including production-grade coding (APIs services testing CI/CD) - Proven experience in deploying AI/ML solutions to production (monitoring retraining lifecycle management) - Concrete experience with GenAI/LLM frameworks and architectures (RAG evaluation prompt strategy integration) - Strong knowledge of cloud architectures (Azure preferred) and security/compliance principles - Technical leadership experience and mentoring ability - Professional proficiency in English - Professional proficiency in Italian (mandatory) Ideally youll also have - Experience with Kubernetes event-driven architectures or large-scale distributed systems - Knowledge of data engineering tools (Spark/Databricks) - Experience in regulated industries or auditing contexts - Open-source contributions publications certifications What we look for Professionals who combine deep technical skills with leadership ownership and a passion for shaping impactful AI solutions in enterprise environments.
