PLC Technician / Technical Officer – Industrial Division (m/f/d)

Job Description WAGNER is a leading global supplier of systems and components in industrial surface technology and you will be responsible for the technical support of PLC systems which form part of the equipment Wagner installs at customer for the Iberica Region mainly and also supporting other entities worldwide (Specially South America). Specifically, you will be part of a technical team, to support our customers for their technical enquiries. Further, you will carry out fault analysis and remote maintenance, as well as perform on-site interventions to rectify faults at customer premises. You will work closely with the QA department to create technical support documentation and analyse operational measures such as cost efficiency. In addition, you will support during the commissioning of standard installations and systems. Besides the PLC Technician responsibilities, you will also take a role on Project Management duties, being part of a structure where you will make Layouts, validate technical configurations with Sales Department and assist the Service & Installation Lead to ensure timelines, technical requirements, budgets and customer expectations are met. You will coordinate internal and external stakeholders, supervise project execution, manage project documentation and support communication between departments and customers. You will monitor project progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions when required to ensure successful project completion. Due to the current workload, responsibilities will be shared between PLC technical support activities and Project Management tasks. Therefore, a high level of autonomy and strong time management skills are essential in order to efficiently prioritize and balance both disciplines. You will join an experienced and fully operational technical team, where collaboration, initiative and problem-solving capabilities are highly valued. Requirements You have completed a technical degree or vocational training in automation, electrical engineering or a related field, or you can demonstrate a comparable qualification. During your professional career, you have gained experience in programming PLC-based controllers, TwinCAT 2, Step 7 or TIA Portal, as well as basic knowledge of industrial network technologies. Experience in project coordination or project management within industrial or automation environments will be highly valued. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities independently. You have a good command of written and spoken Spanish and English. Knowledge of German would be considered an advantage. For customer-related activities, you are willing to travel approximately 30%–50% of your working time.
